eFuels blend with real 10 %: DKS develops climate fuel for the near future
eFuels blend with real 10 %: DKS develops climate fuel for the near future
DKS fuels solution is working on an innovative fuel with a guaranteed 10% eFuels content that comes from certified production facilities. In contrast to conventional E10 fuels, whose ethanol content is often below the 10% mark, the company relies on a precise dosage of synthetic fuels – produced with the help of green electricity and green hydrogen. This approach combines climate protection with suitability for everyday use and could make a decisive contribution to the mobility transition.
Climate neutrality through certified production
The eFuels portion of DKS fuel is produced in plants that meet strict sustainability criteria:
- Green electricity from wind and solar power plants drives the electrolysis for hydrogen production.
- CO₂ from sustainable sources is bound in the manufacturing process so that only the previously extracted amount is released during combustion.
- Certification systems guarantee compliance with environmental standards and rule out “greenwashing”.
Thanks to these measures, the fuel is up to 9% climate-neutral during the use phase – a decisive advantage over purely fossil fuels.
Benefits for consumers: compatibility and cost efficiency
The 10% eFuels blend offers practical and economic benefits:
- Drop-in solution: The fuel can be used immediately in existing vehicles without any technical modifications.
- Higher efficiency: Synthetic fuels burn cleaner than conventional fuels, which can reduce maintenance costs.
- Range advantage: The high energy density of eFuels maintains the usual driving performance of combustion engines.
Unlike E10, whose ethanol content is often less than 10%, DKS guarantees a fixed eFuels content – a clear promise of quality to customers.
Challenges and market opportunities
While the production of eFuels is currently still energy-intensive, DKS relies on partners with scalable solutions. The planned EU special status for eFuels vehicles from 2035 underlines the political relevance of the topic.
DKS fuels solution: Innovation with a system
“Our goal is a fuel that closes the gap between climate protection and everyday practice,” explains CEO Massimo Romagnoli. Interested partners can already find out about testing options and supply chains. With this concept, DKS is positioning itself as a pioneer of a technology that will make millions of existing vehicles more climate-friendly – without compromising on refueling or driving pleasure.
Future prospects
According to expert estimates, the eFuels market could grow exponentially by 2040. The 10% blend is just the beginning: in the long term, higher shares and special applications are planned.
